Ogham Stones
Ever since I saw the ogham stone at Ballinrannig I have wanted to visit these two stones. They were removed from Ballinrannig by Lord Ventry to his residence at Chute Hall. Four other stones from Ballinrannig were removed to his seat at Burnham. The inscription on the 1.02 metre high stone, shown left, reads CCICAMINI MAQQI CATTINI.
The second stone, shown below, stands at 0.97 metres high and reads LUBBAIS MAQQI DUN[--]S.
Situated: From Tralee head east on the N21 then turn left just before Ratass Cemetery. Then at the T-Junction turn right. After 3k you should see gates into Chute Hall on your left. The stones are behind these gates to the right.
